Poisoning with peanut butter
Life February 16th, 2007Sounds oddly dramatic doesn’t it?
For the first time in a couple of days, I sat down at my desk and started catching up on my news feeds late yesterday afternoon. That’s when I discovered this bit about Peter Pan and Great Value (Wal-Mart’s store brand) being contaminated with salmonella. I quickly told Boy #2 to run down and check the two jars of open Great Value peanut butter to see if the product code began with the specified “2111.” Low and behold, they both had the same product code numbers.
Every morning, the first thing I do is eat a tablespoon of peanut butter to settle my stomach and get a bit of protein in my system before taking my medications. Every morning. For two and one half weeks I’ve been poisoning myself with this peanut butter.
So, it’s not the meds interacting to make me sick. It was the damned peanut butter. Of course the peanut butter is in the garbage bin now and yogurt has taken it’s place in my morning routine. But damn. Just. Damn. Now to get my strength back from fighting this for so long. Talk about feeling like an idiot.
