While there are many naysayers out there. I for one have realized exactly what the recent barrage of sponsored posts has done. It’s put the personal back into the blogs that I read. It’s made regular blog reads more interesting as the individual bloggers, while choosing what products and services to promote with a simple link, more creative and more personable in their writing. Bloggers are revealing more “intimate” details about themselves, all of those things that the previous tide of political blogging left them jaded and hesitant to reveal. It’s brought the bloggers who’s blogs have been dormant, out of their jaded closets eager and happy to share again.
If it took paying bloggers to bring that back to the blog world then I say long live sponsored blogging.

Good post! It has brought out more of me, my likes and dislikes… but since I started -and I’ve only done a handful- my hits have dwindled to almost nothing. I thought people would just skip over them, and maybe it’s coincidence and has nothing to do with the sponsored posts, but now I’m feeling a tad insecure. Weird.

Hi Pam. I’ve never been one to worry too much about hits. In your case, I suggest looking at as your readership is having the wheat separated from the chaff. Sometimes you get a lot weeds and little wheat but in the end it’s worth the effort.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Chelle! By ‘hits’ I just meant visitors, mainly those commenting. I love comments.
I’m sure you’re right, and in any case I’m having too much fun with PPP to stop.

For me, it has been about finding time and energy to blog. I have just been so busy, I let it go by the wayside. Now that there is money making potential it is literally worth more to make the time. Plus, having someone tell me what to write about means I don’t have to spend the additional time coming up with content.
It is also forcing me to write double as you have to separate each paid post with a non-sponsored post. I am enjoying that it has gotten me back into the habit of blogging.
