RIP Lucious

Lucious was a third generation kitten. Our Pip’s grand-baby via the female we kept from her first litter, Caoimhe. He was a solitary kitten for Caoimhe. She only had one baby, which is very odd for a cat to have a singular birth. For days Caoimhe kept waiting and looking for more babies but all she had was Lucious.

Caoimhe was a very smart and efficient momma cat and her every move was watched attentively by her momma, Pip. It took Caoimhe three days to figure out where she wanted to keep Lucious. The first 24 hrs. she had him stuffed into the kitty-condo with her, eventually she moved him under Joseph’s desk until he got the age of exploration. Then she moved him to the boys’ room, what would end up being her only mistake.

During his time in their room she litter trained him. There was to be no kitten sized litter pan for Lucious. Caoimhe began by physically putting him the litter box to do his business and then she would take him out. Just this week Lucious began getting in out of the big litter box all by himself. He played on and under Baby Boy’s bed exclusively which resulted in today’s loss. He was accidentally stepped on as he darted out to attack Baby Boy’s ankle for some play-time.

He was a unique little kitten and he will be greatly missed. As you can imagine, while this is difficult for the whole family, Baby Boy is taking this very hard.

Just incase you happen to find yourself at this website and you are in or near Macon, GA. Leave me a comment or use the contact form (link in the sidebar), if you would be interested in taking in a kitten. We currently have 5 babies that need homes. One female, she is a tuxedo taby; one short haired black male; one med. length hair black male; one short haired grey & white tuxedo male; and one black & white tuxedo male.

These babies are have been raised around my rambuncious boys and actually are thriving in the environment with two special needs children. They are incredibly tolerant and affectionate and are completely litter trained.

I haven’t posted pics of my furry babies in a very long time. So first up is Pip’s second litter. They’re 12 days old now and their eyes were already opening by day 3. There’s 5 in that kitty bed with her. See if you can spot them all. This time she had 5 babies, 4 boys and 1 girl.

Next up is Fennien outside in the windowsill with Saoirse on the inside.

Tim took the pictures so that explains why Pip’s head is chopped off in the first picture and the camera flash in the second. It also explains why there weren’t any pics of Caoimhe to upload. They just weren’t viewable.

About a month ago, we also added another pet to our family. He’s a male Beta and he’s gorgeous and spoiled. I wanted to name him Mr. Limpet but Joseph started calling him Sushi and it stuck. Bonus Boy just straight up calls him Raw Fish. LOL

So there have been some good things going on. It’s not all drama all of the time. Even if it does feel like it by this time of day. :)
