Wow, very cool post - thanks! My wife and I have homeschooled our four children through high school and they are all successfully in, and one now graduated from, college. Linux is absolutely my OS of choice and homeschooling is a wonderful opportunity to teach kids what we end up learning in college - that is, how to dig into the material and learn independently… our homeschoolers were definitely college ready!

The place I grew up was about 40 miles up river from a pulp and paper mill - when we got the rotten turnip smell we knew it was gonna rain.

Re: the power of the blogosphere over the MSM, I don’t see it as a bad thing (at least not at this point) - they need outsiders to hodl them accountable.

wow.. the 7-10 business day delivery time on the wal-mart site is very misleading.

I ordered 4 ottomans, and it took a week just to get shipped out, then another week just to arrive at the “Sorting Facility” in SC (where it currently sits). I live in south Florida.. so it still has to go to a “Delivery Facility” wherever that is, and then onto my local store. I can only imagine how long this will take if it took over a week just to arrive at the sort facility.

If i knew it was going to take a month or more to get my items, i most likely would of just paid for the home delivery shipping costs.

very misleading…

wow.. the “Site to Store” delivery times are very misleading on the wal-mart site.
I ordered 4 storage ottomans, and it took almost a week to ship out, and then another week just to reach the “Sorting Facility” in SC (where it sits now). It still has to go to the “Delivery Facility” , and then to my local store.

This is ridiculous, as the shipping time says 7-10 business days. If I knew it was going to take a month for the items to arrive, I woulda just paid for the extra shipping costs.

You’re welcome, Kate. And thank you. Yeah, the cleavage and the Coca-cola shirt that has caused family drama with my father. I am Coca-Cola memorabila collector and my husband got me the shirt for my birthday because of my love of all things Coca-Cola and because it’s 50% cotton and 50% polyester made from recycled plastic Coke bottles. Oh, but the wrath when my father saw it! My mother had to remind him of the clothing he bought for her when she was in her mid-30s before he would stop with the whore and jezebel comments. LOL. Seriously!
